Golden Child- Breathe (Comeback Review)

We had set our alarms and had forgotten to wake up. Whoops. That was an interesting two week hiatus. We posted nothing and did absolutely nothing. It was mainly accidental, but still. On the bright side, we are now accepting applications for writers/editors to volunteer to work here! This is exclusively so we don't forget to write articles, thank you very much for your time.

Anyways, thankfully we were not late for this comeback. As of writing this, 'Breathe' by Golden Child was released 5 hours ago. Not gonna lie, pretty proud of myself for this. We'll be using our D1CE rubric again, rating out of 10 absolutely ridiculous objects. This time, it's out of frogs. It's not like people read our articles for objective feedback anyways. We're not a serious media company. I mean, more serious that Koreaboo and AllKpop, but that's not a very high standard is it? Regardless, onto the comeback.

Before the 1 minute mark: The music video is incredibly bright and the song is super upbeat. It's really good so far! It gives me retro vibes. Not to mention the amazing synchronized dancing. Recently, most idol groups have been doing dark concepts, and I'm glad we finally have a bright one! Furthernore, the setting of a school gym for a music video adds to the brightness and positive energy conveyed by the beat and melody.

1 Minute In: Now we've gone to the chorus. It's the same as the first verse, which is a bit disappointing, but to be fair it is a very good chorus. Overall, so far I'm just really happy that groups are still doing original concepts like this. The chorus finally ends and we are wrung into the rap verse. Uh, yeah, it's pretty good. It reminds me a bit of the rap verse in cheer up. There aren't many groups who can have such a diversity in rap style, but so far, Golden Child appears to be one of them.

2 Minutes In: The vocals in this song are absolutely superb, have I mentioned that? I should've. Anyways, the pre-chorus occurs, rinse and repeat my statement for the last chorus. Except another rap part occurs! This is also nice. It's a creative way to deviate from the last few usages of the chorus. Finally, there is the bridge. It's nice and smooth. It really provides that much needed break from the chorus.

3 Minutes In: Yet again though, the hook is brought back and the chorus is sung for a final time. This was really good. I enjoyed this. I truly loved the fact that the music video had its own little story. It reminded me a bit of "On Track" by Stray Kids. Nonetheless, Golden Child has proven that they don't need to be compared to anyone and that they can use original ideas on their own.

Final Rating: Definitely at least 9 frogs. Maybe a lilypad too! This was really nice! I've been in classes all day and this really provided a nice break from the stress that I needed. Would I recommend this song and this group? Yes, I think so.

Anyways, that was our comeback review, sorry if it was a bit short! We have a surprise article coming your way to make up for the hiatus!
